Journal Collection Evaluation Survey

March 18, 2014 -- As the second stage of a multi-year journal evaluation project we have recently sent invitations to academics, identified as experts in the varying disciplines covered by HAPI, from across Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and North America to participate in a survey.

The survey, created by HAPI consultant Bruce Bachand (MLIS, PhD), is designed to gather qualitative feedback on the quality and influence of journals currently in our collection. The survey includes questions on journal readership size, the peer review process, article content, and each journal’s role in its academic field. The data from this survey will complement a biblio-metric study of the journals currently included in HAPI and will be utilized to comprehensively analyze and reevaluate the core journal collection of the index. The survey also invites recommendations from participants for journals that should be added to the HAPI collection.

We look forward to analyzing the results and thank all the participants for their generosity in sharing their time and expertise.
